Qld: More bad jobs figures to follow today s, says opposition

BRISBANE, Jan 11 AAP - The opposition today warned unemployment would rise in Queensland
if the Beattie government was re-elected - after the state's jobless rate broke the eight
per cent barrier.

Unemployment in Queensland rose to 8.2 per cent in December from 7.9 per cent the previous
month, according to the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics figures.

Liberal leader David Watson said worse unemployment figures were on the way because
of the uncertain political climate resulting from the state government's crisis over the
